The vision of the Coastal Coalition is to form a coastal-center'd network along the Southern African coastline (with some tolerance) that supports, nurtures and grows the music and visual arts scene, creting

BEATZEN and the search for Zen in the Citi.

How do we find a center that is constantly in motion like this? Its simple. We must be moving too. In our times, yet through time. BEATZEN is a lexicon, a new definition for a nowdays time, where you can truely travel anywhere from your chair, and where the world is a heartbeat away.

The Original Beats had it easy, there will still so many frontiers on the horizon, little peaks of experience that needed to be experienced by many. The BEAT has nowhere to hide and everywhere to get to, the infinity loop tightens and our breath ecsapes us, bringing so little oxygen and so many crimes.

Those moments of total immersion into CITIZEN,

when the world is a word,

and the oils not worth the toil,

nations united are better than the reverse,

Thats what CITIZEN is about. Identifying, enhancing, discovering, innovating and heightening the experience of Su Science, laws of Business, Beliefs and the Jungle equally balancing each other, allowing your center to return to where it wants to be, and for the eyes to see, what is right there in front of it.

The CTZN network aims to strengthen the ideals of the Coastal Coalition, while working in projects that further the creative and sustainable development of the region between the two cities of Cape Town [CT] and Durban, Kwazulu Natal [ZN]

The vision is one of a coastal circuit of venues,people and places, which services a coastal tour, creating a network for distibution of
>music+live performaces (including visual art, theatre and extreme/street art/)
>backpackers, venues, nature spots, things to do,
>organic+free trade goods
>new ideas and innovations
> Community Projects/ Organic Farms/ Alternative Villages

This circuit in principle extends from cape town to durban, along the southern afrikan coastline (with some tolerance).

The coastal coalition is a stand for freedom and expression in creativity in our cities.

It makes a stand against the commercial, profit driven industry that Johannesburg engenders and supports, aiming to create and sustain a creative environment that is not dependent on the industries' desires. Both coastal cities experience a brain drain of resources and talent in what seems like an inevitable migration to the City of Gold, a system which leaves the coast in a perpetual flux, a tough environment to create a sustainable and independent creative society.



Ultimately, Joburg represents an industry based creation value system, placing high value on carefully packaged and managed expressions,turning creativity into a product. there is little support for emerging artforms, establishing a perpetuationof the hierarchal status quo

The Coastal Coalition seeks to create a harmonious co-creative environment between the coastal cities, encouraging a culture of respect and appreciation of 'Legends', while promoting the adoption of newer and more digital artform expressions.



There are at present two key drivers:

Working within the essence of BEATZEN, we do not use our energy to dismantle the corrupt system, we use that energy to make ourselves stronger and more able to help each other

it involves revoking what rigid society has to offer, instead seeking more, seeking the future we demand for ourselves and our children.
this futureworld will not be one of war and starvation, but the the illuminated phase of peace and harmony, man, creatures, wind and trees all equal partners in an integrated lifestyling.

and so, the declaration involves and invokes.

now, no problem on this planet is someone else's
its shared problems, shared resources, shared solutions

now, throwing that piece of rubbish in the river....it cant be done. this rubbish is going to end up in my fellow citizens house down the river, across the sea, everywhere.
my actions are bound to service of the humanity+creatures of this planet.

it began with a thought....What would happen if we all declared ourselves to be CITIZENS of the Earth



this idea removes so many reasons for people to war and hurt each other, since we are all the same, with the same fate..stuck to the gravity-hungry spinning rock we call Home. One Earth, OneWaters, One Air, One Love, One People



what is important here, is not the idea, its the Headspace that we'r seeking, individually, in our groups, and as a collective species. the Headspace is around ending the things that destroy us, and focusing on All Things that Nurture, Care for and are in harmony with Nature AND Man

also in mind, is the evolution of this headspace, as it moves from the hedonsitic pursuits of the Beat Generation and tie-dye 60's, into the new definition. it speaks of a green future, a sustainable society, harmonius lifesytles and harnessed collective-potential.

yet, the question is asked...Where Does the Music come In?
